Her talk will delve into the bioengineering of EVs, strategies for targeting lysosomal pathways, and the emerging promise of EV-based interventions in overcoming delivery challenges and cellular uptake issues. The presentation will provide both preclinical insights and the translational potential of EVs in addressing unmet medical needs in LSDs.

About Dr. Abasolo :
Dr. Ibane Abasolo is a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) and Group Leader at CIBER-BBN. She has extensive experience in the preclinical development of nanotherapeutic systems, including liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, and iron oxide nanoparticles, several of which have advanced towards clinical evaluation. In the field of extracellular vesicles, Dr. Abasolo is actively investigating their use as targeted delivery platforms for therapeutic proteins, with a particular focus on applications in LSDs and cancer.
