Javier Huete Acevedo Receives Best Oral Presentation Award 2025 for Breakthrough Research on Extracellular Vesicles and Healthy Aging

Javier Huete Acevedo, from the University of Valencia, has been honored with the Best Oral Presentation Award 2025 at the 2nd World Congress on Targeting Extracellular Vesicles, held in Valencia, Spain.

The award recognizes his compelling presentation, “Small Extracellular Vesicles from Young Stem Cells: A Path Toward Healthy Aging,” which highlights the regenerative potential of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in combating age-related decline.

Huete Acevedo’s research demonstrates that small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from young adipose-derived stem cells can significantly reverse cognitive and metabolic impairments in aged mouse models. His findings show that these vesicles restore synaptic plasticity in the brain, improve glucose homeostasis, and markedly reduce systemic inflammation, three hallmarks of aging closely linked to neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.

By targeting fundamental mechanisms of aging rather than isolated symptoms, this work positions sEVs as powerful tools for EV-based regenerative therapies. The study opens promising avenues for developing non-cell-based interventions aimed at promoting long-term brain health and metabolic resilience.

The Best Oral Presentation Award 2025 highlights research with strong scientific merit and translational potential. Javier Huete Acevedo’s work stands out for its clear implications in the pursuit of healthy aging and reinforces the growing role of extracellular vesicles in next-generation therapeutic strategies.
